In Makhachkala, police officers detained at least ten Muslim believers near the Tangim mosque. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" with reference to the journalist of the publication "Novoe Delo" Idris Yusupov.
According to Yusupov, he had just left the mosque after the prayer and saw that the police were detaining the parishioners. Yusupov began to photograph the process of detention, after which he was also detained.
The detainees were taken to the police department, the police wrote reports on Yusupov that he allegedly wanted to transfer photographs of the security forces to the terrorists. The journalist wrote a statement to the head of the police department, complaining that the police had unlawfully interfered with journalistic activities. After that, the boss approached Yusupov and said that there had been a misunderstanding and the journalist was free.
“These are regular raids near this and some other mosques - you can see separately information about this. The police are not satisfied that their actions are being watched by journalists who record what is happening, take photos and videos. Usually deliveries are carried out without protocols - they are interested in “professional accounting” activities, which they try to carry out behind the scenes, ”Idris Yusupov commented on his detention to OVD-Info.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs denies today's detentions.
