Residents of Arkhangelsk booed the governor of the region Igor Orlov at the celebration of the City Day. The corresponding video, filmed in the city square, appeared on social networks on June 30.
Judging by the video, the crowd began to whistle and chant "Shame!" and "Resign!" immediately after the head of the Arkhangelsk region took the stage to congratulate the townspeople on the holiday. The screams did not stop for two minutes, while the governor's speech continued. As you can see in the video, at some point, policemen appeared in the crowd, who tried to silence the citizens, but this did not bring any result.
Orlov himself, in a commentary to the radio station “Moscow speaking,” stated that he had not heard shouts addressed to him and news about this did not interest him. “I talked with honest and decent citizens of the Arkhangelsk region and the city of Arkhangelsk,” he said.
This is not the first time Igor Orlov has been booed at a mass event. The same situation happened to him in Arkhangelsk on June 12 during a gala concert in honor of the Day of Russia.
