On June 28, the Kaluga District Court arrested followers of Jehovah's Witnesses Roman Makhnev and Dmitry Kuzin for two months, reports the SOVA information and analytical center.
Earlier, on June 26, they were searched, during which personal belongings, electronic devices, and various literature were confiscated. As SOVA reports, according to believers, the search was carried out by employees of the regional FSB Directorate. Roman Makhnev reported that he was given literature that did not belong to him.
It is assumed that the case was initiated under Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on charges of continuing the activities of an extremist organization.
