A participant in a protest in St. Petersburg against pension reform was awarded compensation of 10 thousand rubles

The Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg awarded 10,000 rubles to a participant in a rally on September 9 against pension reform. The claim for compensation for non-pecuniary damage for unlawful detention was only partially satisfied. This was reported by MBKh Media with reference to the lawyer of the Apology of Protest Alexander Peredruk.

Anton Silyukov was detained at a protest against the pension reform, spent the night at the police station. The Kirovsky District Court imposed a fine of 10 thousand rubles on him under Part 6.1 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. But after an appeal to the city court of St. Petersburg, the case was reviewed and, due to the lack of an administrative offense, was terminated .

The claim for compensation for non-pecuniary damage was filed in connection with the violation of Articles 5 and 11 of the European Conventions on Human Rights, writes "Apology of Protest". The lawyer said that he was ready to challenge the small amount of compensation up to the ECtHR.

• On September 9, rallies and marches were held in many cities of the country against raising the retirement age. Twelve of them were agreed with the authorities. According to OVD-Info, at least 1,195 people were detained, most of the detainees were in St. Petersburg - about 623.
