The governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko said that operational services did not warn the authorities to increase the water level in the rivers. According to him, the Ministry of Emergencies did not inform either city or regional officials about this. He announced this at a meeting in the flooded city of Tulun, reports TASS.

A resident of the Tulun Olga Zhukova also informed the Siberia.m. Reali correspondent that no one also warned about the threat of flooding of people, and the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergencies in the early days of the flood refused to evacuate the victims.

Volunteer Sergey Derevyaga, working in the distress zone, on the air of the Current Time TV channel confirmed that no one notified the inhabitants of the upcoming flood. The first to learn about the impending water was the fishermen who were in the upper river. They reported information about this by phone to their relatives and the administration. At the same time, the mayor of the city of Tulun allegedly considered that there was no need to create a panic and once again worry people. The authorities decided not to notify people and did not organize the preliminary evacuation of residents in the Tulun.

According to official information, 14 people died from the flood, the fate is still 13 unknown. However, Interfax, citing a source in the healthcare authorities, claims that we are talking about 16 victims. In the morning of Tuesday, July 2, 42 settlements in three areas of the Irkutsk region remain flooded. Water still remains in 4130 houses, where 9325 people live, of which 2208 children. Also, the Ministry of Emergencies reported that over the past day, water left 41 settlements. In the flood zone, there were no new flooding of residential buildings.

Strong rains came to the Irkutsk region on June 25, after which floods began in the region. One way or another, more than 50 settlements suffered from the elements. It is reported that in the Tulunsky, Nizhneudinsky, Taishet and Chunsky districts, floods flooded water intakes, which provided settlements with drinking water. In the flooded territory are cemeteries, cattle -brewers and treatment facilities, so there is a risk of spreading infections. Municipalities organize the delivery of drinking water.
