The Russian passport has become weaker

Russians can visit only 116 countries without visas - this is less than the number of countries "open" for visiting for residents of Moldova (119), Ukraine (126), Slovakia and Slovenia (179 each). Such data are provided in the World Passport Index , compiled by the consulting company Henley & Partners.

• The first line was occupied by Japan and Singapore, whose passports allow visiting 189 countries of the world without visas. South Korea is in second place along with Germany and Finland: each of the countries has 187 destinations for visa-free travel. The top three is closed by Denmark, Italy and Luxembourg (186 countries).
• Russia occupies 51st place in the new ranking (in 2014 it was 38th). Thus, in one quarter, the country dropped four positions at once and lost two visa-free countries - the African countries of Djibouti and Benin now require e-visas for Russians to visit. Earlier, Russia also lost simplified access to travel to Syria.
• The last place in the ranking is occupied by Afghanistan, whose passport allows visiting only 25 countries without visas (in the previous quarter it allowed visiting 30 countries).
