The dank day of July 3, a small group of Murmansk deputies, officials and veterans came to the city monument to submariners who died in peacetime. The whole ceremony near the monument - a real cutting of the Kursk submarine, sank by 19 years ago, took no more than ten minutes. The assistants handed the deputies the same bouquets of red carnations tied with black ribbons. The chairman of the regional Duma, Sergei Dubova, said that the death of 14 people on the AS-31 “Lorserik” is a “big tragedy”. Deputy Murmansk Governor Yevgeny Nikora recalled that the families of the victims will be assisted.

The 73-year-old vice-admiral in reserve, the head of the public organization of submariners, Yuri Boyarkin, spoke the longest time. “The guys who died ... These were cool officers. High class. What a few, ”it was clear that the admiral made his simple speech sincerely.

Ten years ago, it was Boyarkin who achieved the installation in Murmansk as a monument to the Kursk cutting monument. There is no name on this monument. Only the number of accidents who died in several dozen of accidents and catastrophes on Soviet and Russian submarines, starting from the accident of the S-117 submarine in the Sea of ​​Japan in 1952 (52 people) and ending with the accident itself, and ending with the Kursk itself (118 people).

But those who recently visited the city told the Medusa correspondent that the sensations of the disaster in it are even less than in Murmansk - no flowers or rallies.

“And what do you want - no one knew them in the city. Neither here nor in Severomorsk. That's why there is no reaction, ”Medusa says to the Medusa correspondent, another former submariner close to the local authorities and therefore asked not to call his name. The retired submariner adds that the submarine on which the fire occurred belonged to the secret part of the military intelligence, which is located not even in Severomorsk, but in the village of Deer's lip is also closed: it belongs to but Alexandrovsk.
