Scientists began a cross-border transition from Vladivostok to Murmansk on the research vessel "Professor Levanidov". In the course of the ship, it is planned to conduct comprehensive research in the Arctic seas of Russia, the Pacific branch of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography reported.

In the flight, industry scientists from different branches of the Oceanography Institute plan to evaluate the fisheries potential and the state of the ecosystems of the Arctic. In each sea, on the way of the vessel from Vladivostok to Murmansk-Chukotsk and East Siberian, Laptev, Kara and Barents-scientists will conduct trawl and ichthyoplankton, hydrochemical, acoustic and benthic work, taking hundreds of samples for analysis on board and in laboratories. In addition, they intend to observe marine mammals.

According to the deputy director of the institute, the head of the Pacific branch, Alexei Baitalyuk, studies of this scale have never been conducted in Russia before. As a result of research, scientists plan to form a position in the field of the Aquarius of the Arctic aquatic resources, as well as to explore the pill reserves in the Chukchi Sea, determine the volume of Syki in the East Siberian Sea and the Laptev Sea, and evaluate the stocks of crab and craboids in the Chukchi and East Siberian seas.

On the basis of the information received, a forecast will be given a change in the volume of the stock of hydrobionts, which will allow the form of state lords on the development of the northern territories and on the inclusion of Arctic resources in the economy, scientists said.
