Only Russian propaganda experienced a real enthusiasm for the presidential insult

The host of the Georgian television channel Rustavi 2, Georgy Gabunia, insulted on the air of the Russian president. The act is not particularly smart, including because Gabunia acted as a stereotypical irritated Georgian, which loses control of himself. Many compatriots of the TV presenter condemned him, but who was very happy about was Russian propaganda and State Duma deputies. They had long been waiting for a similar gift from Tbilisi.

The master of gallantry and diplomacy Leonid Slutsky said that the Russian parliament in response to such a insolent trick of Gabunia will tear relations with Georgia or, at least, discuss the most stringent measures in this direction. There are no air messages between the two countries from Monday, due to which the Russian authorities hope to ruin the rebellious Georgians and let it go around the world. Now, in line, mineral water, wine and money transfers, that is, the revenge of Slutsky Gabunia will be terrible. True, there is no final confidence about the mineral water: “Borjomi” belongs to the Russian “alpha groups”, not to reckon with the interests of which is somewhat more difficult than do not give a damn about the plans of ordinary tourists going to Georgia on vacation.

I strictly do not recommend turning on the TV in the coming days, if, of course, you do not want your screen from the television studio of federal channels to be sprayed with saliva. For several weeks, Russian propaganda has been looking for some suitable Russophobia, which could be offended, and now she waited. The best screamers-political scientists are already going to the studio to offer their package of measures to restore order in Georgia.

Even from the moment our new resentment against Georgians was only prepared for the summer as an emergency measure, capable of distracting people from recounting the latest money in wallets, contemplation of garbage dumps thrown to journalists and forged signatures in support of the proceedings of the elections, I noticed the parcel missed in this logical design.

It is possible to demand to punish the Georgian authorities for the streets that protesters with anti -Russian slogans, it is possible only if we believe that in Georgia, as in Russia, there is no freedom of assembly.

So if someone walks along the street with a slogan against us, then this is probably agreed at the Tbilisi City Hall. In other words, calls to impose sanctions against Georgia for the actions and words of individual citizens of this country means accusing the Georgian regime of a terrible crime: democracy.

The same applies to Gabunia’s statements on the Rustavi 2 private television channel: they have nothing to do with sanctions against the Georgian state, if only we admit that people can have their own, non -governmental opinion - no matter how stupid or offensive it seemed to third parties. The State Duma, briefly, dreams of imposing not sanctions against Georgia, but Russia: so that the ones expressed on local television channels are agreed on the dungeons with some official of the Georgian AP.

There is a second side here. The Russians, however, like the Americans, regularly insult the President of Donald Trump, and nothing happens to them for this. No one imposed sanctions against Gazprom for the people who were once popular in the Russian people in the Obama Schmo stickers. And even for the feverish nonsense Dmitry Kiselev about the radioactive ash of the Kremlin and there was nothing for Russian citizens. Because, firstly, freedom of speech, and secondly, they are not offended by fools. That is, the Americans to the Russian media in the same way transfer their ideas about freedom, as we, in the context of Georgian, dream of spinning nuts.

Moreover, in any democracy there will be those who openly and loudly criticize the actions of the Russian authorities, often not embarrassed in expressions. The late American Senator John McCain called Russia a “gas stroke”, another Senator Marco Rubio directly accused our country's leadership of committing war crimes. In the satirical show on the NBC channel, President Putin regularly appears. What is the difference between the statements of the Americans and the statements of the Georgians, except that the latter, as already mentioned, really wanted to be offended in advance?

The logic is simple: in the Kremlin and the State Duma, Tbilisi treats as a colony that has recently tries to break out of the Russian sphere of influence.

The Russian elites to Ukraine also treated well -known results. And Slutsky would try to turn to Washington in this tone: they say, let politicians and journalists apologize, otherwise we will introduce economic sanctions and will not buy technology from you.

An hour after the warlike statements of Russian deputies in relation to Georgia, President Putin said that he did not consider it necessary to introduce sanctions against the country of respect for the Georgian people. This means that in the Kremlin they agree with our arguments and understand: the new foreign policy conflict will not add points to the power. Now you can carefully monitor the speed with which the propagandists will be re -re -reinforced.
