Police conducted a population census in a tent eco-camp near Shies station

Police officers in the Arkhangelsk region came to the ecological camp at the Shies station to take a census of the activists living there. This is reported on the village "Pomorye is not a garbage dump!" in VKontakte.

Police officers copied the passport data of eco-activists. Law enforcement officers explained their actions by the fact "security". According to Novaya Gazeta, the district police officer who took part in the census stated that he needed to have information about "the population of the administrative district."

There is no settlement at Shies station, and, according to the documents, the surrounding territories are located on the lands of the forest fund.

• A landfill is being built at the Shies station in the Arkhangelsk region. It is assumed that its area will be 3000 hectares. Local residents believe that the construction of the landfill will lead to an environmental disaster. For more than two months, activists have been protesting against the construction site, guarding the station and blocking the passage of construction equipment.
