The Tverskoy court arrested a supporter of the “perpetual protest” for a fire rally

The Tverskoy District Court appointed Ilya Kozaev, a supporter of “indefinite protest”, to seven days of arrest under the article on holding a public event without filing a notification (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported to OVD-Info by journalist Maxim Kondratiev.

Police officers detained Kozaev on July 10 after a meeting of voters with a candidate for the Moscow City Duma, the head of the Krasnoselsky municipal district, Ilya Yashin. The activist hung a poster on the building of the election committee with the text “Give people the right to choose. Indefinitely ”and lit a fire, after which he left the place of the action, but he was soon detained. Kozaev spent the night at the Tver police department.

In court, the activist asked to postpone the consideration of the case in order to find a lawyer, since his personal belongings, including his phone, were confiscated overnight. Without a phone, he was unable to find a lawyer. The judge denied the petition, citing the fact that "personal belongings were not confiscated."

In court, Kozaev refused to testify, using Article 51 of the Constitution.
