In Yekaterinburg, the participants of the protests against the construction of a temple in the square near the Drama Theater are being searched and interrogated. On the morning of July 12, the OVD-Info hotline received two such messages.
One of the protesters is being searched right now. At the place of registration of the second participant, law enforcement officers came with a search warrant, but it is not known whether they began to inspect the premises. After the visit, she was summoned for interrogation in a criminal case as a witness.
Probably, we are talking about a criminal case on mass riots (Article 212 of the Criminal Code). It was filed in June of this year, so far there are no suspects or defendants in this case.
12:03 The protester, who was being searched, was taken to the Investigation Department for the Sverdlovsk Region. This was reported to OVD-Info by Fyodor Akchermyshev, a lawyer for the Apology of Protest.
13:22 Maxim Korchemkin, a protester in defense of the square, was released from the Investigation Department, Akchermyshev said.
The search in his apartment was carried out in connection with the criminal case on incitement to riots (Part 3, Article 212 of the Criminal Code). However, according to the lawyer, Korchemkin still does not have any procedural status: he is not involved in the case either as a witness, or as a suspect, or as an accused. In the administration, they did not take any obligation to appear from him, nor a written undertaking not to leave.
During the search, a system unit and mobile phones were confiscated from Korchemkin. The search itself was carried out by several people, among whom were two security officers in masks with weapons.
In the Investigation Department, Korchemkin, according to the lawyer, was not even interrogated - they were simply "asked to confess to the crime and cooperate."
Akchermyshev noted that he and his client were not given copies of documents, for example, a search warrant, a protocol on the seizure of things, a protocol on delivery to the SU. The lawyer does not have documents in his hands proving the fact of the search and detention of Korchemkin.
The second protester also agreed to give her name. The girl's name is Tatyana Markova. They came to her with a search at the place of registration, where her parents live. The girl told OVD-Info that law enforcement officers looked at the phones of her relatives and looked for something in the apartment.
17:23 At six o'clock in the morning, the security forces came to Yevhen Bereznyak. The officers confiscated his hard drive and cell phone, and then took him to the same Investigation Department. What happened in the department is unknown, since Bereznyak signed a non-disclosure agreement. The man is currently at large.
