A candidate for municipal deputies was fined in St. Petersburg

The Vyborgsky District Court of St. Petersburg imposed a fine of 20,000 rubles on Mundep candidate Roman Maksimov for protesting against the actions of the election commission. This was reported by the telegram channel "Apology of Protest".

According to the protocol, on June 29, 2019, Maksimov, together with Vladimir Pervovsky and Natalya Barinova, called on Twitter followers to come to the administration building of the Vyborgsky District and protest against the actions of the election commission, blocking the movement of cars, continuously crossing the pedestrian crossing.

Maksimov, along with Barinova and Pervovsky, were detained during the action and protocols were drawn up on charges of “organizing a mass simultaneous movement of citizens that interfered with the movement of vehicles” (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). In total, 20 people participated in the action.

The court returned the protocols of Barinova and Pervovsky to the police due to the absence of the consent of the prosecutor of St. Petersburg to involve them in the case. Since they are voting members of the election commission, a prosecutor's sanction is required for their administrative prosecution.

The defense in the Maksimov case is handled by the Apology of Protest.
