Former author of the telegram channel “FortangaORG” was detained in Ingushetia

In Ingushetia, the former author of the opposition telegram channel “Fortanga ORG ” Rashid Maysigov was detained, writes . the telegram channel itself

Ferdovs Maysigova, Rashid’s mother, said that early in the morning of July 12, masked people came to their house, handcuffed their son and began to conduct a search. “We went up to the second floor, started looking for something, and suddenly one of the security officers had a bag with a white substance in his hand,” she claims.

Then, according to Maysigova, security forces found leaflets about Georgia on the coffee table, “which were not there before.” "Fortanga ORG " assumes that we are talking about leaflets with calls to join Georgia.

Lawyer Magomed Aushev told the telegram channel that the activist was taken away by employees of the Ingush department of the FSB. The next day, July 13, Ferdovs Maysigova told MBH Media that her son was found in the temporary detention center in Nazran. “At first I didn’t want to talk about it, I thought that they had made a mistake and would now correct it. But now I will shout about it to the whole world,” she said.

The woman insists that her son did not break the law. “Fortanga ORG ” clarified that Rashid Maysigov has recently received threats and about a month ago stopped cooperating with the telegram channel.

Lawyer Aushev told MBKh Media that his client is suspected of possession of drugs on a large scale (Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code). “Rashid told me that immediately after his arrest, the police officers tortured him - they tied something to his ears, shocked him, and wanted him to admit his guilt,” the lawyer said. He added that Maysigov denies guilt.

While preparing the news, a Mediazona correspondent was contacted by a man who introduced himself as Magomed Maysigov, the cousin of Rashid Maysigov. According to him, he learned through a lawyer that Mediazona was looking for information about Maysigov, and therefore decided to call himself.

The caller insisted that Maysigov had nothing to do with Fortanga ORG and asked “not to stir up a scandal.” He claimed that relatives once caught the young man smoking marijuana and beat him for it. Lawyer Magomed Bekov, with whom Mediazona had previously contacted about Maysigov’s arrest, said that he had not given the correspondent’s number to anyone and suggested that an operative could have called.
