In the world, shares of solidarity with Oleg Sentsov are held in the world

In several countries of the world this Saturday, shares are held in support of Oleg Sentsov. The Ukrainian director, who was accused of terrorism in Russia and imprisoned for 20 years, today marks 43 years. This is the sixth birthday that he meets in places of imprisonment after the arrest and sentence of the court.

In Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine, shares are held in the format of the Sentsov+flash mob. Its participants not only express support to the director, but also demand the release of other citizens of Ukraine who have been persecuted in Russia. These are the Crimean Tatars , arrested after the Russian annexation of 2014, and crews of Ukrainian ships captured by the FSB in the Kerch Strait, and other Ukrainians who received prison deadlines in Russia.

Participants in flash mobs write letters with words of support addressed by Ukrainian political prisoners. On Oleg Sentsov, dedicated to the birthday of Oleg Sentsov, his films show and read the works of the director.

In Moscow, the flash mob passed without incident, although the participants of the pro -Kromelevsky movement SERB came to the place of its holding.

Minsk, London, Luxembourg, Munich, Berlin, Riga, New York, Lublin and Galifax joined the joint action of solidarity.

The authorities of Ukraine once again demanded to free Oleg Sentsov. The application was published on the official Twitter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The US Embassy in Kyiv welcomed the courage of Sentsov and turned to the Russian authorities demanding to free all Ukrainian political prisoners.

• Oleg Sentsov was detained in Simferopol in May 2014. In 2015, the Russian court sentenced him to 20 years in a maximum security colony on charges of terrorism.
• To free the director and other Ukrainians whom the Russian authorities pursue after the annexation of Crimea are required by Kiev, Western countries, cultural figures and international human rights organizations.
• In 2018, Sentsov held a hunger strike for 145 days, demanding the release of 64 Ukrainian political prisoners. The director stated that he stopped the action under the threat of forced feeding. The Russian authorities stated that a wide public resonance around Sentsov’s hunger strike would not affect the decision on his pardon or exchange.
• Lawyer Dmitry Dinze, who visits Sentsov in the colony, said this week that the director does not complain about health problems. He works on new stories and stories.
