Police from Tatarstan were accused of using slave labor. They beat the victims and threatened them with death

The human rights organization “Zone of Law” and the Kazan human rights center asked the head of the IC Department in Tatarstan to check the complaints of two people who said that they were held in slavery by a policeman from the city of Nurlat in Tatarstan. Both complaints concern the former head of the linear police station at the Nurlat Yakov Kolesnikov railway station. The first victim named Vasily Vlasov claims that in 2015, a policeman from spring to late autumn forcibly held him on the territory of his cottage in the village of Pushkino and forced to work free of charge on the household.

Video with the story of Vlasov about slavery near Kolesnikov in November 2018 was published on Utube by a former deputy of the city council of Naberezhnye Chelnov Sergey Yeretnov. On the record of Vlasov, he says that at first the policeman forced him to admit the guilt “in the drug case”, which he staged himself: he handed Vlasov a bag of hemp, and then seized him with his witnesses. Vlasov was convicted, but fell under an amnesty.

After that, the policeman, according to Vlasov, persuaded him to work in his country house: he promised “more” money, brought Pushkino to his village and kept there by force. “I ran away, I was caught by police officers who are at the station. They didn’t pay me, they constantly beat me. They forced to clean the manure, watch cattle. He lived in the carriage, and when he ran away, they closed in the barn, ”the“ zone of right ”of excerpts from told Vlasova. The victim noted that Kolesnikov’s subordinates who caught him at the station after the shoots knew that their boss was forcing him to work for free.

Later, the policeman also demanded to take on a certain “case of cartridges,” says Vlasov, without giving details. The young man first agreed, but then fled and began to write complaints to the prosecutor's office.

Another case of slavery at Kolesnikov “Zone of Law” was described by a resident of the Nurlat district Yakov Eliseev. According to him, in 2016, he agreed to help the housekeeper for 10 thousand rubles a month. But Kolesnikov did not pay him and threatened him if he escapes. A month later, Eliseev was still able to do this, breaking the glass in the trailer, where he had to spend the night. He went to the Samara region and returned to Tatarstan only after a criminal case was opened against Kolesnikov.

According to Live Press, the case was started in 2017. In addition to Kolesnikov, his deputy Renat Khametov was accused of him. They were accused of abuse of powers and illegal storage of ammunition. Police falsified criminal cases - up to the staging of robbery on the platform of the railway station, writes Live Press. In February 2019, the Nurlatsky District Court sentenced Kolesnikov to three years in prison, Khametov to two and a half. The court decision has not yet entered into force. There was no episode with coercion to work in a criminal case, human rights activists note.

This is not the first time that police officers from the Nurlatsky district are accused of using slave labor. Earlier, the Republican Office of the SK opened a criminal case on the abduction of a person on the request of a local resident Idris Sadykov. He said that in May he was kept by the employees of the district police department, the Dinar brothers and Lenar Gafiyatov - the district police officer and the criminal investigator. The brothers forced the man to work on their household plot (the working day lasted from four in the morning to 11 p.m.), they forbade to leave without permission, and beat for violations of the prohibitions. Once Sadykov refused to clean the toilet, after which, according to him, he was beaten and swept with boiling water and legs.

Two more complaints about slavery may indicate a systematic violation by police from the Nurlatsky district of human rights, according to the "zone of law". Human rights activists asked the investigators to verify the messages of Vlasov and Eliseev, and the case of the abduction of Idris Sadykov - “due to a wide public resonance” - to transfer for investigation to the central apparatus of the SK in Tatarstan.
