“In elections at some more or less serious level, the opposition candidate will still not be allowed to win. In the Russian election circus, only hired clowns are allowed to participate. There are no other roles there. If an “opposition” candidate is released into the arena, he inevitably becomes a jester on the backup dancers among the scum (role of Sobchak and Co.).

You can participate in elections only if you understand that you will not be allowed to participate. Then this participation becomes meaningful. Firstly, it is demonstrated to “the city and the world” that there are no elections in Russia, and all this is an indecent shame. Secondly, an informational reason for new protests is created, leading to the revival of the protest movement.

The authorities usually try to provide themselves with the appearance of “victory in elections” through manipulation and falsification. This time they are simply not allowing any opposition candidates. Apparently, the Kremlin is confident that even bribery, deception and falsification will not bring it victory.

The only salvation is non-registration of opponents. This means that opposition candidates enjoy many times more support than pro-government ones. That is, power simply hung in the air. Apart from brutal violence, she has nothing to rely on."
