A police officer came to the hospital to see the detainee beaten at the Luzhniki police station

Maksim Verkhoturov, who was beaten twice by the police yesterday, was visited by a police officer at Pirogov Hospital No. 1. He himself told OVD-Info about this over the phone.

According to Verkhoturov, senior police lieutenant Alexei Makarenko came to his room and called him "to the corridor" to talk. Verkhoturov refused to communicate with the police without a lawyer.

- I feel bad. Verkhoturov said. - Headache, bruises of the hip joint, left side, spine, coccyx. And the whole back of the head is bruised. When they were detained at the Moscow City Electoral Committee, they turned around the neck - onto the asphalt, kicked me in the stomach, ribs and head. Very rudely dragged to the paddy wagon, very rudely thrown inside. We were detained again at the Luzhniki branch, again. They threw me on the floor at the entrance, hit my head on the tile. In the department itself, they threatened a lot, tried to physically take away the phone. They attacked me straight away as soon as they called me from OVD-Info. I filmed how they beat another detainee, they did not like it.

Verkhoturov also said that a man was sitting with him in a paddy wagon, whom a policeman or a National Guard officer punched in the nose with his fist, thereby breaking his nose into blood.

• Yesterday, police detained 39 people at a rally near the Moscow City Electoral Committee. As noted by the detainees, the police acted very rudely. Four people were eventually hospitalized.
