On Red Square in Moscow, human rights activists were detained for pickets in memory of Natalia Estemirova

In Moscow on Red Square, three people were detained in single pickets in memory of the employee of the Memorial branch in Chechnya Natalia Estemirova, killed 10 years ago.

Among the detainees: Chairman of the Council of PC "Memorial" Alexander Cherkasov, member of the Council of PC "Memorial" Svetlana Gannushkina, journalist of Novaya Gazeta Elena Milashina.

They will be accompanied by lawyers from the OVD-info Nikolai Fomin and Anastasia Samorukova.

17:34 Svetlana Gannushkin was released from the police department with a protocol about a repeated violation of the rules of public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This part of the article provides a fine of 150 to 300 thousand rubles as a punishment, from 40 to 200 hours of compulsory work and up to 30 days of arrest.
