In Tula, the case of organizing a rally against a landfill was sent for a new trial

On July 11, the Tula Regional Court sent the case of environmental activist Nikita Evtikhevich for a new trial. Alexey Vlasov reported this to OVD-Info.

Earlier, the Odoevsky District Court of the Tula Regionfined Evtikhevich 23 thousand rubles, finding him guilty of organizing a public event without filing a notification (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

According to the court of first instance, the activist called on subscribers of the group “Overheard Dubensky District” to go to a public event near the city administration building.

The regional court declared this decision illegal, since the Odoevsky District Court did not indicate the form of the event that Evtikhevich allegedly planned.

According to Vlasov, the activist did not plan anything at all and simply exchanged opinions with other users. He invited them to hold a rally on a certain day, but did not name the time or place of its holding. The interlocutors explained to Evtikhevich that an uncoordinated rally could lead to arrests, and he abandoned this idea.

Vlasov also told OVD-Info that the prosecutor gave Evtikhevich a warning about the inadmissibility of organizing an unapproved event, but did this after drawing up the protocol.

• Activists in the village of Dubna, Tula Region , oppose the import of Moscow garbage into the Dubno quarry. The local administration claims that the landfill in the quarry has existed for about forty years. However, activists believe that garbage began to be imported only about six months ago.
