Moscow authorities did not approve a march in support of the Khachaturian sisters

The Moscow authorities refused to agree on a march in support of the Khachaturian sisters on Sakharov Avenue. This was reported on the MBKh Media website with reference to one of the organizers of the action, Tatyana Sukhareva.

“They didn’t agree on Sakharov, they sent him to Maryino. We do not agree with this, we will appeal to the ECtHR. We will try to coordinate mass pickets in the center, but we do not call for an unauthorized rally, ”MBKh Media quotes Sukharev.

• Initially, the organizers of the event planned to hold a march in support of the Khachaturian sisters and against gender-based violence on July 6. Then the authorities also refused them.
• Krestina, Angelina and Maria Khachaturian are accused of killing their own father. The investigation found that for many years he beat the girls and forced them to perform sexual acts. Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder by a group of persons by prior agreement) provides for imprisonment for a term of 8 to 20 years, or life imprisonment. Defenders of the sisters insist that the girls killed their father as part of a necessary defense.
