Vedomosti: Victor Chernomyrdin rose up to 12 billion

The costs of building the largest in the world of the world's most unusual icebreaker Viktor Chernomyrdin increased one and a half times - from 7.95 to 12 billion rubles, Vedomosti reports with reference to sources in the United Shipbuilding Corporation and the Ministry of Transport. A contract for the construction of an icebreaker was concluded in 2011. It was assumed that he would be transferred to the customer in December 2015, however, the deadline was repeatedly shifted due to errors in the initial project, Vedomosti notes. According to the latest agreement, the ship was supposed to be handed over no later than June 25, 2019.

With the initial amount of the contract, the loss from the project will be 4 billion rubles, the Vedomosti writes. “The actual costs exceed the cost of the contract for a number of reasons. We consider and work out various options for compensation for additional costs, ”says the representative of the OSK.

Vedomosti notes that 150 million rubles of loss brought an explosion of combustible vapors on an icebreaker, as a result of which the wiring burned down and the boiler control system suffered. At the same time, in 2017, the government allocated an additional 700 million rubles for the construction to mitigate the effect of ruble devaluation.

Rosmorport CEO Andrei Lavrishchev claims that the state does not yet plan to increase the costs of the icebreaker, despite "for the long time for construction."

The length of the icebreaker is 147 meters, the width is 29 meters, the autonomy of swimming is 60 days. It is assumed that the ship will be able to continuously move in ice up to two meters thick, and to perform icebreakers - up to three meters. This icebreaker should become the most powerful non -entertaining icebreaker in the world and work on the Northern Sea Route.
