The former wife of the journalist Orhan Jemal, shot down a year ago in the Central African Republic, along with Alexander Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko, told Novaya Gazeta about the investigation of this crime, which is conducted by the Russian Investigative Committee.
According to Irina Gordienko, who was recognized in the case of the victim, four investigators changed in the case in the case. Each of them, when meeting with her, "helplessly shifted his hands" and "complained that he could not do anything." Now the case is conducted by the investigator in particularly important cases of the Main Investigation Department of the IC of the Russian Federation Igor Zolotov. According to Gordienko, all that he had done so far refused the petitions of her lawyers to introduce materials to the case of an independent investigation of the murder conducted by the Dossier Center, and also refused to interrogate those who appear in this investigation.
The petition, in particular, was attached to the driver’s telephone conversations of the driver Bienvenu Duvokama, who brought journalists to the place of murder, the local gendarme Emanuel Kotofios, adviser to President Tsar Valery Zakharov and his subordinate Alexander Sotov. The last two, according to the "dossier", are closely connected with the private military company (PMC) Wagner, the film about whose activities in the Ts was shot by the killed journalists. Billings indicate that all of the above people repeatedly called up both on the day of the arrival of journalists to Africa and on the day of their death. Investigator Zolotov considered that in the interrogations of Zakharov and Sotov there is no need, since there is no sufficient information about their involvement in the events.
In addition, back in September 2018, Lawyer Gordienko petitioned the delivery of the clothes of the dead to Moscow, without which it is impossible to conduct a full ballistic examination, as well as their other personal belongings. It was not possible to achieve this, although suitcases with the things of the dead are stored at the Russian Embassy in the TsA.
According to investigator Zolotov, it is impossible to send them to Moscow by diplomatic mail, since the Russian Foreign Ministry refuses to help in this matter, the Investigative Committee does not have their own funds, and the Ministry of Defense refused to help, citing the department’s aircraft “do not fly there”. Zolotov also stated that Russia and the TsAD did not sign an agreement on legal interaction.
At the same time, in August last year, countries signed an intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation , the supply of Russian weapons and the assistance of Russian military instructors of the local army. Within the framework of this agreement, “direct interaction of law enforcement agencies, cooperation in criminal and other cases” is also spelled out.
Finally, the ex -wife of Orhan Jemal said that the first secretary of the Russian embassy in TsAB Viktor Tokmakov personally promised her to help in the investigation of the murder, but did not keep his promises. “Apparently, the investigation will last endlessly - with the active non -participation of all the main departments of our country,” Gordienko concluded.
In July 2018, Russian journalists Orhan Dzhemal, Alexander Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko arrived in the Tsar for filming a documentary on the activities of Wagner PMC Central Africa. The customer of the film was the Center for Investigation Management (CUR) Mikhail Khodorkovsky (a month after the death of journalists, Khodorkovsky stopped financing it). Jemal also conducted its own investigation of possible unaccounted supplies of Russian weapons operating in the CVC CSA.
On July 31, it became known that a day earlier, journalists were shot by unknown. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation adheres to the version that journalists who had 8.5 thousand dollars in cash and expensive filming equipment tried to rob armed blacks, speaking Arabic, and having met resistance, opened fire.
According to another version, Russian killers are behind the crime, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) even called 10 mercenaries of Wagner PMC, which can be involved in the murder.
In June, the Dossier Center wrote about the preparation of a documentary television for a Russian audience, in which the death of journalists will be presented as a provocation of "opponents of the world", built in the TsA by the efforts of the Russians and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. According to the scenario, the filming participants should push the fact that “someone correctly substituted the guys” and that only “new gangs” and “foreign mercenaries” were ruled in the territory where the murder took place.
