Member of the Moscow City Electoral Committee Dmitry Reut called the words of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who proposed to hold a rally at the mayor's office, if independent candidates to the Moscow City Duma are not registered, as an "attempt of political blackmail" words.

Reut said that it was useless to put pressure on the election commissions. “You don’t need to give out your personal emotions and grievances, present them as legal grounds, it’s better to prepare for the elections,” said a member of the Moscow City Electoral Committee.

Dmitry Reut added that the city electoral committee "is guided by the law, and not by an appeal from the stands."

On July 20, at a rally for free elections held on Sakharov Avenue, Alexei Navalny suggested organizing a mass rally on July 27 near the Moscow City Hall. “Either until next Saturday you register everyone, or next Saturday we are going to the Moscow City Hall,” he said.
