Navalny said that Vladimir Solovyov had a residence permit in Italy

Alexei Navalny published a photo of TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov's document on the right to reside in Italy.

How the picture ended up at his disposal, Navalny did not say. He also did not comment on when and on what grounds Solovyov could obtain a residence permit in Italy.

Judging by the document, Solovyov received a residence permit in the fall of 2014 in the province of Como (as Navalny previously said , the TV presenter has villas on the lake of the same name). The residence permit expired in November 2016; whether he extended it is not known.

The basis for obtaining a residence permit was the “chosen place of residence”. Italy provides it to people who have housing and a regular source of large income not from employment (for example, dividends, income from real estate, pensions). Income, according to data for 2019, must be at least 31 thousand euros per year. People who have received such a residence permit must pay taxes in Italy on the sources of their income.

Update. Solovyov wrote in a telegram that he had "this status for many years" and that this status does not give the right to work or apply for citizenship. He also turned to Navalny with the question: “Who transferred bitcoins to you for publications about me.”
