Residents of the Novokuznetsk district of Kuzbass turned to the participants of the St. Petersburg Dialog forum. They asked coal companies to intervene in the mining procedure, which, according to activists, will lead to an environmental disaster.

The Petersburg Dialog forum was held in Bonn. It was attended by the special representative of the Russian President for interaction with the “Forum of Gaza Exporters” Viktor Zubkov, a member of the board of infrastructure of the Deutsche Bahn concern Ronald Pophalla and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The forum showed a video message from the inhabitants of the south of Kuzbass, who complained about the environmental situation in the region, NK.tv reports .

According to activists, coal mining companies are working with violations. This seriously worsens the ecology of the region: forests, fields, rivers, sources of mineral water are polluted, air purity suffers. The city of Myski, Kiselevsk, Prokopyevsk, Osinnik and Kaltan are in the distress, where black snow goes every winter. The initiative group claims that the authorities ignore the problems of the region that residents are trying to attract attention to.

“Perhaps they will be able to somehow communicate with them, and in the future to reduce those negative consequences of coal consumption in Europe,” Lementyev explained, noting that Anatoly Yanovsky, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, announced the problem of Kuzbass. “There may be fewer people will lose their jobs in Kuzbass, and the correct environmental transformations will occur.”
