An activist of the “I am the people” movement was detained in the Moscow region

In Voskresensk, near Moscow, the police detained Alexei Kholkin, an eco-activist and member of the “I am the people” movement. This OVD-Info was told by his colleague Yevgeny Solovyov.

Police officers met Kholkin at the entrance to his house and took him to the Vinogradovsky police department. There, a protocol was drawn up against him under Article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization of a mass gathering of people that caused a violation of public order).

Kholkin was charged with this article for allegedly participating in the blocking of the A-108 highway near Likino-Dulyovo, where there are protests against the construction of a garbage plant. According to Solovyov, the detainee was not there that day.

At the moment, he has already been taken to the Resurrection City Court.

July 24 On the day of his arrest, the Voskresensky City Court decided to dismiss Kholkin's case. This was reported in the telegram channel "Human Rights Defenders of the Postcard".

The judge took into account that the report on the activist was drawn up a month and a half after the offense imputed to him. Kholkin managed to prove that when the activists blocked the highway on June 13, he was not there at that moment.
