According to her, the dilapidated enterprise "Usolekhimprom" in Usolye-Sibirsky is a serious danger to the ecology of the region.

“Usolekhimprom” is the most striking example of the ugly behavior of the owner in the Irkutsk region. This is a huge chemically dangerous enterprise, which is in a dilapidated state. The negligent owners pumped out the last resources from it and abandoned it, ”said the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radovonova.

In the buildings of an abandoned plant, containers with dangerous chemicals are stored, some of them are under pressure. Also, many mercury -containing residues and a large number of oil waste were found in the plant, the head of the department claims.

“In fact, this is the territory of an environmental disaster. We need to act now, otherwise we will get such an “ecological Chernobyl”, ”concluded Raznova.

Radionova said that she had already appealed to the federal government with a request to create a state program for the reclamation of a dangerous object.
