Human rights activists: the rights of those detained at the rally are being violated at the Moscow police department

Police officers violate the rights of detainees to protest on July 27 in the center of Moscow. This is reported by the human rights project "OVD-Info".

According to the project, in the police department for the Bibirevo district and the service department of the Moscow State University, since yesterday evening, detainees have not been able to receive parcels with the minimum necessary things - food, water and hygiene products.

As Elena Rusakova, an unregistered candidate for deputy to the Moscow City Duma, said, in the police departments in the Filevsky Park and Vnukovo districts, the detainees were not provided with sleeping places.

One of the detainees, press secretary of the Association of Popular Resistance Nikita Zaitsev, opened his veins in the Tver police department. Now he is at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute.

“He is probably being held in the department of crisis conditions and psychosomatic disorders, since Zaitsev opened his veins in the police department. Apparently, the activist did this as a sign of protest, but doctors call the incident a “suicide attempt,” writes OVD-Info.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that more than 600 detainees at the rally on July 27 in the center of Moscow are not residents of the capital. “The necessary documents have been drawn up in relation to all those detained for violations of public order at this event,” the agency said in a statement.

On July 27, an unauthorized rally was held in Moscow for the admission of independent candidates for deputies of the Moscow City Duma, who were denied registration due to the excess number of invalid signatures. In total, according to OVD-Info, 1,388 people were detained for protests in Moscow. On Sunday afternoon, remain in police departments. at least 152 people

Independent candidates for the Moscow City Duma, who called for the rally, were detained a few hours before the rally. They were released at about six o'clock in the evening, they arrived at Trubnaya Square to meet with their voters, and they were again detained by the police.

Unregistered candidates announced a new protest on the eve of the appeal hearing at the Central Election Commission on 3 August.
