The court fined 18 Crimean Tatars who came to support those involved in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case.

The Tagansky District Court considered the cases of 18 people who came to support the defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case. All of them were fined 20 thousand rubles. This was reported in the Crimean Solidarity group on Facebook.

in Moscow were detained On July 11 , 44 Crimean Tatar activists , who came to the building of the Supreme Court to support the defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Then the activists were loaded into paddy wagons and taken to the police department for the Meshchansky and Tagansky districts to draw up protocols under the article on violation of the rules for holding an event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The court rejected all requests by the lawyers for the appearance of a representative of the prosecution and witnesses in the courtroom. “The judge does not see the importance of having representatives of the prosecution in the courtroom,” writes Crimean Solidarity

Names of those fined: Rustem Tairov, Edem Abdullaev, Alexander Gavrikov, Kyazim Useinov, Nariman Ibraimov, Remzi Beitullaev, Osman Abdurazakov, Zinur Appazov, Rustem Jhelyalov, Eleonor Izmailov, Mustafa Dzhemilev, Izet Saifullin, Refat Kamilov, Edem Aliyev, Amethan Umerov, Emin Rustemov , Marlen Akhaev, Osman Khoshu.

The activists were defended by lawyers Rustem Matsev, Olga Gnezdilova (Legal Initiative) and Konstantin Andreev (from OVD-Info).

The cases of the remaining 26 detainees will be considered in August.

• Four people are involved in this Hizb ut-Tahrir case, and in December 2018 they were sentenced. Enver Mamutov was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony and one and a half years of restriction of freedom on charges of organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Zevri Abseitov were sentenced to nine years in a strict regime and a year of restriction of freedom on charges of participating in it (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). All four were also found guilty of preparing for a violent seizure of power by an organized group by prior agreement (Article 278 of the Criminal Code with the application of Part 2 of Article 35 and Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code). On July 11, 2019, the day when 44 activists were detained at the Supreme Court building, the court reduced the sentences - by three months each.
• The Islamic party "Hizb ut-Tahrir" is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. The Sova information and analytical center considers the ban unlawful, since its Russian supporters were not seen in calls for violence.
