On the morning of July 30, in Krasnodar, police officers came with a search to the journalist South. MBH Media »Alexander Savelyev. It turned out that a criminal case of cooperation with an unwanted organization was opened against him (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code) due to cooperation with the MBH Media. In the UK, it is believed that “MBH Media” is a project of the previously recognized unwanted Open Russia.
The Open Russia movement was created in November 2016 at a conference in Helsinki. On April 26, 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the foreign organizations OR (OTKRYTAYA ROSSIA), Open Russia Civic Movement, Open Russia (public network “Open Russia”) in the UK, as well as Institute of Modern Russia, Inc (“Institute of Modern Russia ") in the USA. Then the Ministry of Justice said that there were no branches of these organizations in Russia. Thus, the “Open Russia” operating in Russia was not related to these organizations and was not undesirable. Despite this, administrative and criminal cases about the activities of an unwanted organization were started on the members of the organization.
In March, Open Russia announced the elimination of the movement of the same name, since the Russian public organization Open Russia (ROO Open Russia), established in Moscow on February 24, 2019, has already been created.
