On August 31, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced Sorokomov to 23 years in prison. According to the investigation, from May to August 2015, he several times exported the daughter of a local resident, who was 11 years old at the time of the first rape. Out of the fears that it can be exposed, the magpies hit the child three times with a baseball bat on the head and threw the girl’s body into the river.

Investigators also found that he had only raped two girls who had not reached the age of 16. One of them he threatened to put her into an orphanage. In one of the episodes of rape, his acquaintance Sergei Kalganov participated. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
