“Tsukasov miraculously was registered as a self-nominated candidate by signature, and here is the result. Self-nominated candidate, pensioner, Ostankino municipal deputy Alexander Shkolnikov filed a lawsuit against Tsukasov’s registration.

The complaint is that in the column “obligations of a property nature” of the certificate of real estate and about obligations of a property nature outside Russia it is not written “absent”, but simply left a blank.

Unfortunately, withdrawals on such formal grounds have become a common practice in our country. Courts with some frenzy remove candidates, applying extreme penalties, for apparently minor violations in the preparation of documents. This practice is vicious and aimed at limiting the voting rights of citizens.

The Moscow City Court's decision on Tsukasov has not yet entered into force and, at the request of the candidate, will be appealed to the Supreme Court.

Administrative candidates are quietly conducting their campaigns, while candidates independent from the authorities are swallowing dust in the courts and election commissions.
