The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow imposed 15 days of administrative arrest on the coordinator of Navalny’s Moscow headquarters, Oleg Stepanov, the headquarters reports . Today he was detained at the exit from the special detention center after eight days of arrest.
Stepanov was found guilty of repeated violation of the rules of holding a rally (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to his participation in the rally on Trubnaya Square on July 16. The text of the coordinator’s protocol almost completely coincides with the protocol of libertarian Mikhail Svetov, who yesterday, July 31, was arrested for 30 days for the same rally.
Previously, Stepanov was arrested due to calls for a rally for the admission of independent candidates on July 27. That day, citizens wanted to come to the city hall, but security forces blocked part of the nearby streets. As a result, the protesters staged a march through the center of Moscow.
Police and the National Guard detained more than 1,300 people, some of them seriously injured. After the action, the Investigative Committee opened criminal cases of assault on security forces (Article 318 of the Criminal Code) and mass riots (Article 212 of the Criminal Code).
