Foreigners said they went on hunger strike in the Mordovian temporary detention center

In the Mordovian city of Ruzaevka, on August 1, ten people awaiting deportation from Russia in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens went on a hunger strike. Alexander Utkin, who ended up in TsVSIG after his release from the colony, reported this to Mediazona.

According to the statements of the hunger strikers, which Mediazona has at its disposal, those awaiting deportation require a meeting with the prosecutor. Some of them went on hunger strike “due to the uncertainty of their situation.”

According to the hunger strikers, they have been in the TsVSIG for several months, while the management and staff of the institution cannot explain to them when they will be deported or released. Some awaiting deportation ended up in TsVSIG after being released from the colony.

One of the statements was written by a Ukrainian citizen, resident of the Lugansk region, Alexey Tkalich. He said that he had been released from correctional colony No. 12 and had been in a center for foreigners since June 21, “without knowing why and without any explanation.” Starving people also complain about the conditions of detention in the TsVSIG.

Earlier, on July 20, Rafik Abbasov, held in this TsVSIG , said that he was beaten by security forces when he cut his hands after being refused release.

In turn, the republican department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Abbasov opened his veins after receiving a refusal to bring him two liters of vodka. The police denied the presence of riot police during the conflict.
