The coordinator of Navalny's Moscow headquarters was detained at the exit from the special detention center

The coordinator of the Moscow headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Oleg Stepanov, was detained at the exit from the special detention center, where he was serving an administrative arrest. This was reported on the Twitter headquarters of Navalny.

Stepanov was serving 8 days of arrest because of a post with a call to action on July 27 on Facebook. The police drew up a protocol against him under part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the procedure for holding public events).

UPD 12:06 Stepanov was brought to the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki police station.

13:40 A protocol was drawn up against Stepanov for repeated violation of the procedure for holding or participating in a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Now he is being taken to the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow.

19:30 Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow sentenced Oleg Stepanov to 15 days of administrative arrest. He was charged with Part 8 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the rules for holding a mass event) for speaking on Trubnaya Square on July 16. According to MBKh Media, a policeman spoke at the court session and said that the orientation on Stepanov was received from the Center "E" (for countering extremism)

• Many independent candidates in the elections to the Moscow City Duma were denied registration. Electoral commissions invalidated more than 10 percent of signatures collected by candidates from residents of districts, which is below the acceptable level of marriage. Members of the commissions refused to accept claims from several hundred people that their signatures were genuine.
• In protest, independent candidates, including Lyubov Sobol, Ivan Zhdanov, Ilya Yashin, Yulia Galyamina and others, decided to hold a general meeting with voters. The place for this was chosen in Novopushkinsky Square. The meeting participants went to the mayor's office, and then to the Moscow City Electoral Committee, where they demanded to register candidates.
• On July 24, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article on obstructing the activities of election commissions (Article 141 of the Criminal Code) due to a meeting of candidates at the Moscow City Electoral Commission. On July 30, employees of the same department opened a criminal case because of the action on July 27.
