MTS provided summer residents with high-speed Internet in Barnaul

MTS has expanded coverage of high-speed mobile Internet in the vicinity of Barnaul. Communication has become more accessible for villages, dacha and garden communities.

Since the beginning of 2019, MTS has increased the number of 4G base stations in the suburbs by almost a third and improved the speed of mobile Internet in Barnaul, in the area of ​​​​Gonba and cordon, the villages of Novomikhailovka, Novye Zori and Belmesevo, the company reported. In addition, residents of the Lesnoy and Yuzhny settlements, as well as the private sector in the Siberian Valley, received quick access to the network from a smartphone.

“Every year we record more than a two-fold increase in the seasonal activity of Barnaul subscribers in summer cottages,” said Dmitry Levin, director of the Altai branch of MTS. “At the same time, voice services are giving way to a growing demand for mobile Internet – users are used to being online during country holidays and trips. To ensure maximum comfort for them, we regularly expand our network coverage by systematically increasing the number of base stations and the available data transfer rate.”

In summer, holiday villages near Barnaul “show” an almost threefold increase in Internet traffic. Holidays near the city are very popular among residents of the capital of the Altai Territory, and of course, even outside the city, they want to stay in touch and use all the usual Internet services: instant messengers, applications with music and video, maps, make purchases online and much more.

Earlier, MTS analyzed the busiest areas around the regional center, and from the beginning of 2019, it launched a large-scale project to connect local cottage settlements and gardening associations in the suburbs of Barnaul to the Internet. As a result, more than 15 villages and settlements of the Barnaul urban district were covered.
