The court in Moscow arrested five accused in the case of riots on July 27

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow arrested Ivan Podkopaev, Kirill Zhukov, Samariddin Rajabov, Alexei Minyailo and Yegor Zhukov for two months in the case of riots during the rally in support of independent candidates in the Moscow City Duma. Itis reported by "Mediazona" in its online.

The courts took place in three halls at the same time. All five are accused under the article on participation in the riots (part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) in connection with protests that took place on July 27 in the center of Moscow. Two of them - Kirill Zhukov and Samariddin Rajabov - are also accused under the article on the use of non -hazardous violence to a representative of the authorities (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code).

The first was arrested by 25-year-old Ivan Podkopaev . His interests were represented by a lawyer from the OVD-info Nikolai Fomin. From the materials of the case it follows that after the detention in his backpack, a poster, a knife in a case, bank cards, a gas mask, slippers and a hammer were found.

To the questions of the judge, for which he all these things, Podkopaev replied that they were intended for household purposes. The lawyer noticed that these things themselves are not prohibited, and the evidence that Podkopaev used them for shares.

Next, the court decided to arrest Kirill Zhukov . In protest, he announced the beginning of a hunger strike.

During the meeting, the investigator noted that a criminal case was instituted against Zhukov on the use of violence to the National Guard. Svetlana Baiturina, lawyer of the Agora international human rights group, asked to extend the detention period of her client in order to provide the court with additional materials.

The lawyer noted that the materials of both criminal cases do not contain evidence of Zhukov’s guilt and asked him to choose another measure of restraint. Judge Avdotin rejected both a petition and made a decision to arrest Zhukov, writes Mediazon.

The next room considered the issue of choosing a preventive measure to Samariddin Rajabov . A lawyer works with him for its intended purpose. His case was also attached to the case of the application of violence to the police officer.

“The investigation found that Rajabov raised the bottle, this bottle fell into the head of a law enforcement officer and caused him physical pain,” the investigator read out in court. We are talking about a plastic bottle. She asked to arrest Rajabov, as he, according to the investigation, could hide and destroy evidence.

The fact that the accused can hide, the investigator argued that on July 27 he was detained not in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure. To Rajabov’s argument that he was detained by the police during the action and then placed in a special receiver, the investigator replied that he was then detained in the order of administrative proceedings, said Nikolai Sizikov, a participant in the ATS-info, who visited the meeting.

Rajabov said that he could not hide, as he was in a special reception, to which the investigator replied: "And yet."

The fourth considered the application of the investigation for the measurement of the volunteer of Lyubov’s headquarters Sobol Alexei Minyailo . The court rejected the petition of the Agora lawyer Alan Gamazov to postpone the meeting to 72 hours from the moment of detention.

The lawyer brought to the attention of the court that political scientist Ekaterina Shulman, journalist Ekaterina Vinokurova and TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva are ready to act as guarantors of the accused

Minyailo himself said that he wanted to take part in the action, but did not have time, since the police detained him before the event. He noted that he does not pose a danger to anyone, since during his 20-day hunger strike (against the inaccessible Lyubov Sable before the elections) he managed to drop 10 kilograms.

A few hours later, after a meeting of Minyailo, a video blogger and a student of the faculty of political science of the Higher School of Economics Yegor Zhukov was brought to the court. At night they came to him with a search, and early in the morning they took the interrogation. After that, he was immediately taken to court.

The online broadcast from his meeting was carried out by the HSE students, who created a telegram channel in support of Zhukov. Earlier, the head of the Agora, Pavel Chikov, reported in his telegram channel that the Valery Kasamara vice-rector Valery Kasamara introduced a personal guarantee for the Presnensky court for Zhukov, who is her student. The accused was also guided by a member of the HRC and journalist Russia Today Ekaterina Vinokurova.

During the meeting, Zhukov’s lawyer asked for a break so that his protective could drink water, since he could not do this on a search and interrogation.

“According to Zhukov’s mother, he was not fed from two in the morning, they did not give water, did not allow him to sleep and go to the toilet normally,” said the mother of the OTD-info participant in court.

The defender noted that the accusation against Zhukov is based on a lie. “This is an exceptional measure [suppression] to the face, which was previously noticed in anything reprehensible. As a result, the court also decided to arrest Yegor Zhukov for two months. Lawyers filed appeals on the court decisions.
