Late at night on August 2, representatives of the Investigative Committee arrived at the home of video blogger Yegor Zhukov, who was trying to run for the Moscow City Duma. This was reported to the OVD-Info hotline by his friend Stanislav Toporkov.
According to Toporkov, Zhukov participated in the action on July 27, but was not detained. In what case the search is being carried out is still unknown.
10:40 Four hours after the start of the search, Zhukov was taken away for questioning to the investigative committee, Dmitry Gudkov's press secretary Alexey Obukhov told OVD-Info.
At the moment, Zhukov is still being interrogated at the Investigative Committee on Novokuznetskaya Street. His case is being handled by investigator Dmitry Smadich, who is also involved in the case of obstructing the work of election commissions.
Zhukov, who turned 21 on July 28, is in the status of a suspect under the article on participation in mass riots (part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code). He is defended by the lawyer from the "Apology of Protest" Leonid Solovyov.
