Share prices of video game makers Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive Software fell by 5% on August 5, Bloomberg reports.
Stocks fell after US President Donald Trump condemned the "glorification of violence in society", including in video games, following two mass shootings in the US.
Bloomberg notes that game makers have previously denied that there is a link between games and real-life violence. The lack of such a link has been confirmed by studies conducted in recent years.
