Levada Center: the number of Muscovites approving of the current protests has exceeded the number of dissatisfied ones

37% of Muscovites had a positive attitude towards protests in support of independent candidates for Moscow City Duma deputies, while 27% of the capital's residents had a negative attitude towards these rallies. This was reported by RBC with reference to the results of a Levada Center survey commissioned by the pro-Kremlin Foundation for the Development of Civil Society.

Another 30% of respondents are indifferent or neutral towards the protests, 5% found it difficult to answer.

Among the 37% of survey participants who approved of the rallies, 2% responded that they participated in them themselves, 9% allowed their participation in such actions, another 26% of respondents said that they had a positive attitude towards the actions, but did not participate in them.

Protests in support of independent parliamentary candidates have been taking place for several weeks. On July 27 and August 3, security forces detained more than a thousand rally participants. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for “mass riots” at the July 27 rally, in which 10 people are accused.
