His self -discipline is from his youth. Then many sports addictions appeared. He played hockey, jumped with a parachute, participated in regattas. But in the first place was heavy athletics - General Sorokin played a key role in this hobby. Not suspecting it himself.

“I saw him in competitions. He was 60 when he lifted 140 kilograms. For me then it was something unimaginable. Several years pass, and I see his photo on the cover of the magazine “Spark”. As I remember her now: he is there in a red cut, on a T -shirt - the coat of arms of the USSR. This photograph has become like an icon for me. And when I was 71 years old, I won international veteran competitions. In a jerk he took 110 kilograms, in a push - 150. And he thought to himself: “Eh, General Sorokin would have seen me now”.

Sighing, adds that he tied with serious loads.

Glovatsky began to build boats about forty years ago. At first he studied magazines, hatched ideas. Even Valentin Borisovich sometimes builds fireplaces. Not to say that he is delighted with the lesson itself: you have to spend a lot of time in dampness, which is unpleasant, especially in winter. But sometimes this craft helps a lot in the implementation of the new boat project: its pension is not bad, but the costs of materials are incomparably higher.

At different times, Glovatsky conquered Ladoga, and Onega, and Baltika. In his youth, he walked along the Wesu along the Volga, and on the training ship - in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Valentin Borisovich is sure that sometimes you need to stop in order to re -look at your capabilities, soberly evaluate them. So you save yourself from excessive expectations, illusions, and in the future - from depression.

“So this yacht is the last,” he admits that age still makes itself felt. - Previously, I solved any technical problems. Lightning sparkled in my head, ideas flew, I immediately built everything in space. Now it seems that the task is not so difficult, but I spend time for this: I have to think over, sit with a pencil.
