Tuapse mayor was detained for the illegal lease of land plot

The mayor of Tuapse Vladimir Zverev was taken detained in the case of illegal lease for the forge, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies. Later, the information was confirmed in the Investigative Committee.

It is reported that a criminal case was opened against Zverev on abuse of authority and official forgery (part 2 of article 286, part 2 of article 292, part 1 of article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

"According to investigators, in May 2019, an individual entrepreneur addressed the head of the Tuapse city settlement with a request to lease a land plot for a period of 49 years. The head of the city settlement knew that there was no grounds for allocating a plot without trading. However, going beyond his powers, he issued a resolution on the allocation of a man for lease a land plot located in the city Tuapse, ”the investigative committee said in a statement .

At the same time, false information on the decision of the Tuapse City Court, which was the basis for allocating the site, was entered into the resolution on the provision of the site. In June 2019, Zverev entered into a lease agreement with a local resident for a period of 49 years, while indicating the low cost of rent for the year. As a result of the unlawful actions of the suspect in the budget of the Tuapse city settlement, more than 23 million rubles were not received.

The release specifies that law enforcement officers continue to establish the details of the crime. The investigation is affected by the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention against Zverev.

As RBC recalls, in January last year a criminal case was opened against the previous mayor of Tuapse Alexander Chekhov. He was charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale. In December 2017, Chekhov was detained at the Krasnodar airport upon receipt of 2 million rubles.

Vladimir Zverev was elected Tuapse head on February 16, 2018 by the Council of Deputies of the Tuapse City Settlement. The acting mayor of Tuapse after the detention of Zverev became his deputy Maxim Krivopalov.
