The Chinese company Huawei officially introduced the Harmonyos operating system, which, according to rumors, was developed as an alternative to Android for Huawei devices. The company clarified that the system (in China will be called Hongmengos) can be used on any devices, including smartphones, "smart" speakers or Internet devices.

As the Verge recalls, the active discussion of Huawei plans to abandon the use of the Android system developed by Google began after the American authorities introduced Huawei and 70 companies related to a special list, which means a ban on obtaining equipment and technologies from American companies without much permission.

Soon after, Google announced the suspension of cooperation with Huawei, but later the American authorities promised to weaken sanctions against Huawei, but there is still no clarity in this matter: the White House has postponed the issuance of cooperation with Huawei to American companies.

So far, Huawei plans to use Harmonyos instead of Android are unclear. This feature, among other things, allows the developers not to create different versions of the same application for different gadgets. At the same time, Huawei said earlier that the new system is intended for industrial use.

Huawei reported that by the end of the year they plan to release the first devices “with smart screens” in China (which is meant by this term, the company did not explain) working under Harmonyos. Then the company intends to present wearable devices and other gadgets with Harmonyos.
