Rosatom announced the continuation of work on new weapons after the death of employees during testing

The head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, after the funeral in Sarov of employees of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center who died in an explosion in the Arkhangelsk region, said that work on new types of weapons would continue. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the state corporation.

On August 8, the Ministry of Defense announced an emergency at a training ground in the Arkhangelsk region. Rosatom said that the explosion killed five employees, three more were injured and burns of varying severity. According to the state corporation, the explosion occurred on an offshore platform during a test of a rocket with a radioisotope power source.
