Participants in a rally for youth rights were detained in Volgograd

In Volgograd, police detained five people at a rally for the rights of young people, including at least three minors. The detainees themselves reported this to OVD-Info.

Young people were detained when they were giving comments to a journalist. They were surrounded by men in civilian clothes, who said that they were engaged in illegal propaganda and called the police. The police took the activists to department no. 2. All the minors were taken to the basement.

12:30 One of the detainees, Vlad Pogorelov, said that the policemen were refusing to show entries in the log about being taken to the department. According to him, the action had not yet started when the young people were detained. According to law enforcement officers, they received a statement about the propaganda of homosexuality.

August 13 After the arrest, everyone except Vlad Pogorelov was released. This was told to OVD-Info by his lawyer Ilya Pavlenko. A protocol was drawn up against Pogorelov under Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to the demands of a police officer), since he refused to go with the police to the department without proper reason. After that, he was taken to the Krasnooktyabrsky District Court, where he was fined 500 rubles.
