Fontanka: After protests in St. Petersburg, one criminal case was opened-due to the spraying of pepper gas

Fontanka, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, wrote that after the action on August 10, in support of Moscow protests, one criminal case was opened at the Gostiny Dvor. According to the publication, it is associated with the spraying of pepper gas.

Earlier, human rights activists reported that after the protesting, the police opened two criminal cases. One is under the article on insulting a representative of the authorities (Article 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the second - under an article on hooliganism (Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Sources of Fontanka confirmed only the initiation of the case of hooliganism due to the spraying of gas. “The owner of the pepper spray is called human rights activists, 23-year-old Vladislav Tomashevsky, who has already received an administrative protocol. The case was initiated in fact, the suspects are not reported, ”the newspaper writes. According to the publication, gas was sprayed for shares towards an activist who did not require medical care.

As the correspondent of Paper from the action, the spraying gas, the provocateur hid his face. At first he was put in one car with protesters, but then he was taken to the street.

The sources of the publication at the same time deny that after the action a criminal case has been instituted under the article on insulting representatives of the authorities. They claim that the policeman only made a report with the words of the activist that he was “unscrupulous”.
