The cost of the Russian luxury car Aurus Senat Sedan in the basic configuration will be 18 million rubles. Aurus CEO Adil Shirinov announced this on August 23 at the opening of the first Aurus showroom.
“The car that is presented here before you today – Aurus Senat Sedan – the price in the basic configuration is 18 million rubles,” TASS quotes Shirinov as saying. However, he noted that the car will not go on retail sale in 2019. According to Kirill Pavlovich, general director of the official Aurus dealer Panavto, retail sales of Aurus cars will begin in 2021.
Thus, the Aurus Senat sedan turned out to be more expensive than its main foreign competitors. Thus, the basic Mercedes-Maybach S 560 4MATIC costs about 13.8 million rubles in Russia, and the price of the Bentley Flying Spur sedan is 13.2 million rubles, writes RBC . At the same time, prices for the Senat limousine, which will cost more than the sedan, will be announced later.

The opening of the Aurus showroom in Moscow City was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. “Aurus is a car for dynamic, successful business people, a high-tech and innovative breakthrough product. And it is symbolic that the brand’s showroom is opening in the business heart of Russia – Moscow City. The offices of the largest Russian and international companies are concentrated here, it is a center of progress and high technology. In the showroom, potential clients, partners and media representatives will be able to get a unique experience with the car and learn everything about the Aurus brand,” the minister said.
According to Autostat , during the opening ceremony it was announced that 500 pre-orders for the Senat sedan had been received. Of these, more than 100 orders were placed at Panavto.
Let us remind you that the development of cars of the Russian luxury brand Aurus is carried out by FSUE NAMI as part of the “Cortege” project. At the end of August last year, the Aurus Senat limousine and sedan were presented to the public. Special versions of these cars, along with the Aurus Arsenal minivan, are used in the Garage of the FSO of Russia for trips of the first person of the state. As Denis Manturov said earlier, Vladimir Putin now travels exclusively on Aurus. The head of government, Dmitry Medvedev, also drives a car of this brand, and Manturov himself has been using Aurus since the spring.
The Aurus Senat S600 sedan and Aurus L700 limousine are equipped with a hybrid powertrain based on a 4.4-liter supercharged petrol V8 engine, which works in conjunction with a compact electric unit and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The total power of the engines is 600 horsepower. In the future, the line will be replenished with the Komendant SUV, Arsenal minivan, as well as a “civilian” modification of a convertible based on the Senat model, which took part in the Victory Parade on May 9 on Red Square.
Now cars under the Aurus brand are produced at the FSUE NAMI site in Moscow in single copies. The maximum production capacity of this site is estimated at 220-250 cars per year, and pre-orders for the sedan and limousine last year covered the possibilities of their production at NAMI for two years in advance. At the end of December, Denis Manturov announced that serial production of the Aurus line of vehicles is planned to begin in mid-2020 at the Sollers site in Alabuga, but now we are talking about the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.
