The Moscow City Court upheld the arrest of Pavel Ustinov, who is accused of using dangerous violence against a member of the National Guard during a protest on August 3. It is reported by Mediazona.
The trial was supposed to take place on August 21, but the meeting was postponed in order to call the investigator Zavarzin. Arriving at the meeting, he asked to dismiss the complaint about the arrest of Ustinov, and also to attach to the case the protocol of interrogation of Lyagin, the injured OMON officer. The document was attached, despite the fact that lawyer Dmitry Cheshkov insisted that the case number was incorrectly indicated in it.
The reason for the detention, according to the protocol, was that Ustinov was shouting slogans offensive to the police. During the arrest, he resisted, because of which Lyagin dislocated his shoulder.
At the same time, the Memorial Human Rights Center reports that the protocols of the OMON officers who participated in the arrest of Ustinov coincide word for word.
Lawyer Dmitry Cheshkov noted that there are no medical documents confirming the injury of the National Guardsman in the case. The court also did not satisfy the request of the defense counsel to interrogate two witnesses, including Dozhd correspondent Vasily Polonsky.
