A criminal case was opened against an Arkhangelsk environmental activist for using violence against a police officer

Eco-activist Andrei Khristoforov, who opposes the construction of a landfill in Shiyes, has been prosecuted for using non-life-threatening violence against a police officer (Part 1, Article 318 of the Criminal Code). It is reported by 29.RU.

According to investigators, Khristoforov, also known as Drevarkh Enlightened, on June 27, on a train, hit police officer D. A. Shulgin with a stun gun in the forearm of his left hand. Doctors recorded an abrasion on the left forearm of the policeman.

The activist was given a measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.

• On June 27, police detained Drevarkh for using a stopcock when the train approached Shies station. During the arrest, one of the police officers used a stun gun on Khristoforov, but the officer himself was also injured.
• In Shies, they are going to build a landfill for the import of garbage from Moscow into the region. It is planned that it will cover an area of ​​3,000 hectares. Local residents believe that the operation of the landfill will lead to an environmental disaster. Activists are on duty at the construction site and block the roads to the station, which is why they are regularly detained, driven out of the construction site by force and beaten , administrative protocols are drawn up against the protesters.
